Baroque Medical was founded in 1994 by Albert Denoon and is headquartered in Illovo, Johannesburg. It supplies disposable and capital medical devices to the Sub-Saharan African and Indian Ocean regions, and is best known as a leading distributor of cardiovascular devices in South Africa, with a portfolio spanning cardiovascular intervention, structural heart therapies including TAVI and TEER, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery and endovascular devices.
Its neurosurgery range includes Codman programmable shunts, ICP monitoring, dural repair products and CUSA ultrasonic surgical aspirators, while its interventional line covers introducer sheaths, pacing catheters, coronary physiology and OCT imaging. Baroque also funds two non-profit clinician training bodies, the Crossroads Institute for cardiovascular education and the Campbell Institute for wound care, neurosurgery and traumatic brain injury education.
