Coronary intervention and structural heart
Abbott is a global healthcare technology company founded in 1888, active in more than 160 countries across medical devices, diagnostics, nutrition and established pharmaceuticals. Its cardiovascular business is one of the broadest in the industry, spanning coronary intervention, structural heart, vessel closure, intravascular imaging and physiology, and peripheral intervention, a portfolio expanded by the acquisition of St. Jude Medical in 2017.
The coronary line is anchored by the XIENCE family of everolimus-eluting stents, with over 20 million implants and more than 120 clinical trials behind it. Decision support comes from the PressureWire X wireless physiology guidewire, measuring FFR, RFR, IMR and CFR, and from OPTIS OCT imaging systems with Ultreon software and the Dragonfly OpStar catheter. In structural heart, MitraClip transcatheter mitral repair has treated more than 200,000 patients worldwide, joined by TriClip for the tricuspid valve, the Navitor TAVI system and the Amplatzer occluder family. Perclose suture-mediated closure completes the pathway with a track record of more than 20 million closures.
We distribute Abbott cardiovascular technologies to hospitals and interventional teams in Mauritius, Seychelles and Madagascar, holding consignment stock at partner cath labs and providing in-theater support during cases.
